Nerd fashion parade!

When I emigrated back to England in 2012, I unfortunately had to ditch a large amount of my possessions, including a sizeable percentage of my clothing. However, an upside of this was that it provided the opportunity to have a nerdier slant to my garments πŸ˜€

While I did already have a couple of things, my rate of acquisition increased – and I even ended up buying a couple of things myself! πŸ˜€

I’ve been rather slow to put my nerdy side β€œout there”: For a considerable period of time, my nerdhood felt like a stigma, because what I was observing was a disdain by others for that sort of thing. Thankfully, that changed when I joined Twitter, and followed similarly-minded people. Their friendship has meant a great deal to me, and I felt at least a little more confident in expressing my nerdy self while out in public.

I do actually have non-nerdy clothing, too, but I much prefer the items you’ll see below. I hope you like them at least as much as I do! πŸ˜€

By the by, apologies for this not being in a slideshow gallery format – I didn’t like how the gallery presented the images, and there wasn’t an option for a description πŸ˜› And I’m notΒ wearing them in the pics, because that would have been a hell of a lot of effort for the sake of the photographs! And, well, I’m not a particularly glamorous clothes-horse πŸ˜›

My oldest item: an Amiga Format T-shirt that I won from the magazine, way back in 1991. I don't actually wear it now, but it's had a lot of use in the 25 years I've had it, as you can probably tell from the fact you can make out the coat hanger through the fabric!

Purple Atari T-shirt, Christmas 2012 (gift from my sister and brother-in-law) – Now we start the post-emigration stuff. I was so flipping thrilled when Vicki and Paul got me this! Unfortunately, the print hasn’t held up well, fading over time, and it’s barely visible nowadays 😦

MineThon 2 T-shirt (won in a giveaway, 2013) - Being a fan of Minecraft, I was very happy to win this MineThon tee from the event's organisers :)

Green Atari T-shirt (Christmas 2013, from Vicki and Paul). I loved the purple tee when I got it in 2012, but this one blew me away :D And the print is holding up rather better on this, which is nice :D

Space Invaders T-shirt (Christmas 2014, Vicki and Paul) – I was really enjoying the fact that Vicki and Paul were making all these contributions to my nerd wardrobe, especially considering I didn’t have much money myself at the time… And, thanks to them buying me these tees with “distressed” designs on has converted me to liking the style πŸ™‚

Pac-Man T-shirt (2015[?], Mum) - Spotted this one in Primark, and Mum treated me to it. Turns out it's a little tight around mah tum-tum, but no matter :) The pattern also puts me in mind of pyjamas! :D

Overworld Enchanting Potions T-shirt (J!NX giveaway, 2016) - When I found out that I'd won the J!NX Christmas 2015 Minecraft pack giveaway, I pretty much lost my shit :D Part of the giveaway were three T-shirts and two hoodies of my choosing, making a massive boost to my Nerd Wardrobe :D This potions tee was my first pick :D

Minecraft Party T-shirt (J!NX giveaway, 2016) – My third and final pick was this super-cute design! Not long after getting it, though, I noticed that, for some reason, there’s no sheep on there! What gives?!? (Still love it, though!)

Enderman hoodie (J!NX giveaway, 2016) - My first pick of the two hoodies, and I love it to bits, especially the Enderman eyes on the hood! This wasn't in stock at the time of winning, but the nice lady at J!NX said that it would be OK for the shipment to be delayed until it arrived. The wait wasn't all that long, and it was worth it to get this sweet design :D

Diamond Hoodie (J!NX giveaway, 2016) - My second pick, and I love the little touches: the diamond pattern on the inside of the hood; the little diamond on the right-hand pocket; and the metal Minecraft-logo zipper handle (which the Enderman hoodie also has).

Pac-Man T-shirt (2016[?], Cliff Brewin) - Mum's partner, Cliff, very kindly gave me this T-shirt he used to wear, when he decided he didn't want it any more. And I was more than happy to take it off his hands ;)

Crow & d20 T-shirt (self-purchased, 2016) - I had the very good fortune to win an art giveaway by the wonderful Lemmie Lee (Twitter: @LemonandHoneyCo), and I asked if she'd create the design I'd had in mind for some time: a crow holding a d20, in a sort of heraldic pose. And she not only agreed, but did a much better job than the image I had in my head! Lemmie also graciously allowed me to put the design on a tee, AND I BLOODY LOVE IT. But then, I'm biased: the crow represents Kristal Crow, and the d20 represents me :D

Pac-Man "Clyde" T-shirt (self-purchased, 2016) - I'm no bloody good at PLAYING Pac-Man, but I love the graphics, and I was stoked to see this at a car-boot sale for just Β£4!

Sakushi T-shirt (self-purchased, 2016). I'm not certain if this design is *actually* nerdy, but I'm including it, because I think it's ADORABLE :D Sakushi, an excellent sushi & Japanese food restaurant in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, sells these T-shirts in a range of colour combos, with all proceeds going to The Children's Hospital Charity. More details on their website :)
